The Faces Behind Travel Clearwater Beach

Hi fellow beach lovers! My name is Megan and I am excited to introduce myself, my fiancé (Matt), and our baby "Travel Clearwater Beach" to all of you. Our mission with this website is to allow locals or people traveling from afar to come to one website to find top recommendations for hotels, restaurants, and activities. On the site, anyone will be able to book hotel accommodations or beach activities with one click of a button. And for the travelers who do not know where to start with planning their beach vacation or just need some advice, we offer concierge services to help you plan your perfect beach getaway. Travel Clearwater Beach is your one-stop shop for anything Clearwater Beach!

MEGAN'S STORY ~

I would say my favorite memories during my childhood consist of visiting Clearwater Beach with my grandparents. We would go every Wednesday to jump in the waves, collect sand dollars, either eat a packed lunch or visit Frenchy's Rockaway Grill right on the sand. I also remember getting to ride the well-known pirate ship that cruises around the waters "firing cannons" and getting to dress up like pirates!

Fast-forward to becoming an adult, I have my bachelors degree in financial business from St. Petersburg College and have always had dreams of owning my own business. I spent 8 years working for Frenchy's Restaurant Group, serving in the restaurants for 6 years and then working as their accountant for 2 years. Frenchy's will always be family to me (you have to go eat one of their grouper sandwiches)!

I met my fiancé, Matt, back in 2019 and I have planned about a dozen vacations for us since we started dating. Travel is a true passion of ours and I love to research and organize all of our plans to a science! Our travels include Costa Rica (5 different cities/2-week trip), Aruba, multiple cities in Mexico, 5 different states in the USA, and now currently planning a month-long Europe trip for our honeymoon!

Combining our love for travel and my strong organizational/research skills, I knew that creating this travel concierge business and blog for our hometown would be a hit! We truly want to help those who are in need of some advice on where to go on Clearwater Beach and even travelers who are feeling overwhelmed and need some one-on-one help to build their vacation itinerary. I am so excited to officially launch this website and connect with all of you!! See you on the beach real soon.

MATT'S STORY ~

My fondest memories of Clearwater Beach start at 13 years old. My friends and I would all get dropped off at the bus stop at Countryside Mall, and we'd all get on Bus 67 (at the time) to take us all to the trolly station in Downtown Clearwater. From there we would ride the Clearwater Beach Jolley Trolley down to North Beach.

After High School, I decided to go to college online and stay local to what I've always called home- "Clearwater Beach". To pay my way through college, I started bartending at the famous Opal Sands - Sandbar.

What started as a way to "have beer money in college" took me beyond my wildest dreams. In 5 years spent at a tiki bar on Clearwater Beach I was able to: Graduate with my Bachelors Degree, meet the love of my life (Megan), buy a house, save 50k, and meet my mentor (who helped me break into the tech industry, shortly after graduating).

The story doesn't stop there. Even after we stopped working on the beach, we wanted to be close to "home", so we decided to rent a 400 sq-ft. apartment/condo on the beach to continue living out our beach fantasy.... After 9 months, with 2 full size dogs, and 2 humans, we had enough. The show "Tiny Living" isn't for everyone.

Although we live just a skip, hop, and a throw from Clearwater Beach now (just off the island), we make sure never to miss a tradition down there.

Whether it's the 4th of July Fireworks, the Sugar Sands Festival, or even the Stone Crab Festival, we always try to make our way down to the beach.

Megan and I fell in love on the beach, spent holidays & weekends on the beach, spent our engagement day on the beach, and everlasting memories on the beach.

Now we want to extend our passion and love for Clearwater Beach to all travelers abroad.

We are excited to share our news, reviews, advice, and tips about Clearwater Beach and hope you enjoy our adventure.
